Saanich Fair
Saanich Fair

The day before school started, I got to play at the Saanich Fair. I’ve been going to the Fair ever since I was young. Last year I went yet again, to check out the performers.
I remember sitting in the audience and talking with my mum about my music. At this point, I hadn’t written any of the songs on my CD yet. I was very interested in performing. We talked about places I could start, like Open Mic Night’s, assembly’s at my school, and maybe even, the Saanich Fair. Well, I ended up doing all of those things.
I went back to the Saanich Fair again, this year. But instead of sitting in the audience I was up on the stage, playing my music. It was a beautiful day and a lot of my friends came out too. But, to be honest with you, I was extremely nervous on the way there and up until the moment I started playing. But that’s one thing I’ve learned from all of the performing and new things I’ve been doing, just go for it. It takes experience to shake the nerves. You can’t expect yourself to be completely ready if you’ve never done it before. My nerves aren’t completely gone yet, and I’m not sure if I’ll ever fully get rid of them, but one thing is for sure, I’ve got plenty of time to work on them. ;)”
