I (like most) am spending majority of my time this winter at home- re: COVID protocols. So, making my space extra cozy and adding more seasonal touches than I normally would is making all the difference in helping keep the holiday spirit alive…

I’m not normally jumping at the bit to decorate for the holidays, but this year it’s seemed to bring those extra warm and fuzzies that I think we all need a little more of.

Here’s a mini tour of my Winter 2020 home set up…

Electric Heater

In late November I picked up a portable electric heater. A bit of a splurge since I’ll only have it running off and on during the Winter months. But, with how inviting and cozy of an atmosphere it creates on those dark, cold days- it’s so been worth it!

Makeshift Christmas Tree

My space is too small to bring in a Christmas tree. So I decided to string lights on my biggest plant (a rubber plant) and call it a day!

Fresh Pine

While I don’t get the fresh pine smell from a real tree, I still get the seasonal aroma from some pine tree branches popped in vases around the room.

Lighting

I’ve always been sensitive/picky about home lighting. Even though it gets dark early during the winter, I prefer to keep my space as close to the natural light as possible. Even if that means low lighting for half of the day!

A Calming Ritual

Ever since I got the electric heater, it’s become a daily ritual to sit in front of it. Either in the morning while drinking coffee or at night eating dinner. Such a calming, simple thing to do during the quiet winter months.

There you have it! When I said mini tour- I meant it.
